God on the Move: Community Delivers Fridge, Washer, and Dryer Through Generosity
What started with a broken fridge led to an outpouring of generosity! Learn how donors and a kind-hearted business owner worked together to provide not just a needed refrigerator, but also a surprise washer and dryer set that perfectly matched a local woman's prayers.
Sometimes, meeting one need reveals another, opening the door for even greater blessings. We first learned a local lady needed help when her refrigerator failed, barely keeping her food frozen. We purchased a new one, and Tony and I delivered it. Her excitement was wonderful, especially since, by chance, it was her favorite color – red!
During that visit, we noticed her washer and dryer were struggling significantly; she mentioned the dryer was very noisy. The thought of replacing them seemed daunting, but God was already working. I considered a local rebuilt appliance store, but soon after, a brother in Christ connected me with someone he knew who refurbishes washers and dryers. This connection proved providential – after hearing the story, the refurbisher offered us a matching set for the incredible price of $300.
We put out the call for help and quickly raised $200 – enough for the dryer. When Tony and I went to pick it up, we encountered amazing generosity. The owner insisted we take the washer along with the dryer, trusting us to pay the remaining $100 when possible. He didn't want the lady to wait and even upgraded her to a fantastic high-end washer for free! His kindness was truly moving.
The delivery was unforgettable. The woman was anticipating only the dryer. When she saw the washer arrive too, her reaction was pure joy and disbelief. She shared with us that it was the exact washer she had been praying for, replacing appliances that had lasted her 26 long years.
